How to Draw a Nose

The nose can be an integral part of a portrait with potential to convey the mood and character of the subject. How you draw a nose can also affect dramatic changes in the appearance of a person with just a slight turn of the head. When it comes to how to draw a nose, some prefer to block in its contour with lines, while others find it easer to assess correct proportions by lightly shading along one side of the bridge and then continuing according to the curvature of the nostril.
