Fundamentals of Structure

To the untrained eye, one may not realize that every object one sees is based on the structure of the cube, the cylinder, the cone and the sphere. This isn't to say that they are geometrically perfect in form but they are fundamentally contrived from these four basic geometric solids, either individually or from some combination of the four. That being said, the mastery of these four shapes will theoretically allow you to draw anything you see! The key is to first concentrate on the overall shapes and dimensions of a subject and then progressively break them down further to add more and more detail.
